Little Rock - Big on Accessibility

Information Design ▪ Accessibility ▪ Destination Marketing

Overview: At the start of my internship with the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB), I was asked two seemingly simple questions; "How can we market the city of Little Rock to those with disabilities and how can we improve the accessibility of our media?" Over the course of my 6 months with LRCVB, I would seek to push these questions to their fullest extent developing an accessibility master plan, a DEI marketing campaign, and an accessible attractions guide to Little Rock. Though these two questions held the bulk of my time, I also engaged in a variety of other designs including ads, social media post, video production, and photography.

The accessible attractions guide to Little Rock was an extremely foundational project to my development as a designer. It not only involved strictly adhering to LRCVB's brand guidelines, but also a great deal of coordination with other parties including 12 local attractions, a professional photographer, a local judge, a landscape architect, and Dutch, who's experience exploring the city is highlighted within the guide.

During my time with LRCVB I gave three presentations on accessible tourism to upwards of 40 of my coworkers from members of the executive team to other interns. This was a quick animation I made to introduce the idea before getting into the presentation.

The research I presented on turned into this master plan which will guide LRCVB on what accessibility-related projects they could pursue over the next two years. This guide includes timelines, task cards, mock-up social media posts, and Q&A's with other destination marketing organizations about their experiences and successes.

A few Miscellaneous Projects

This internship was an amazing opportunity that really pushed me to grow in ways I never expected to so early in my career. I coordinated projects with a variety of stakeholders, did some of my best design work to date, and planned a direction that will set up LRCVB to make Little Rock a more marketable and accessible city to all.
